2007 Triumph Tiger
2007 Triumph Tiger
An exciting and completely new bike with an old name
We attended the Triumph 2007 press model launch in Santa Monica, CA. Gone are the knobby type tires, the swollen fuel tank, the funny graphics and dated styling. In their place are wider rims, road clawing rubber and beautiful new styling. The Tiger 1050 lives in a genuinely different space to its predecessor. We actually think they should have re-named the machine so consumers could more easily understand this isn't their Fathers Tiger. No matter what your preference for riding, the all-new Tiger 1050 will devour any road. Whether you desire carving the tight and technical switchbacks or slicing through traffic each day, or loading up and heading for the opposite coast with your passenger, this is a new escape machine. Sit on the Tiger and you it feels right. Back road weapon, loaded tourer or comfortable straight-up commuter it's a fit.Take a Tiger touring off into the wilds and you’ve got a bike that comfortably devours miles of tarmac. Relaxed riding position, spacious seat, supple suspension and tractable torquey engine guarantee you arrive fresh at the end of a long day in the saddle. Wide bars make tight maneuvers child’s play.
Triumph engineers have worked long and hard to give the new Tiger 1050 the edge it needs to excel. It has all-round practicality, comfort and now the new Tiger 1050 brings the added elements of sporting performance. Ditch the bags, go it alone and head for a bit of fun at strange angles. Tucked into a brilliantly balanced chassis, the Tiger’s Speed Triple derived engine delivers power and ear to ear grins. Fully adjustable suspension keeps things planted and with a squeeze on those radial brakes, you can stop on a dime.
Nothing sounds like a triple. You can almost feel it on your skin. It’s like a low growl that gets angrier the faster you go. There’s simply no confusing a Tiger with the whine of an anonymous four. The Tiger in profile looks ready to pounce. The sharp, angular lines of the headlight cowl muscle up around the tank and then flow beautifully to the upswept tail. The Tiger looks great.
The new Tiger Comes in four colors, Fusion White, Caspian Blue, Phantom Black, and Scorched Yellow. The Tiger features standard bars that feel just right, a straight-up seating position, tons of leg room and no top-heavy feel at all.
