lndy Lite & lndy Lite Deluxe

These popular entry level models get people hooked on snowmobiling and offer an improved ride for 1998 with their recalibrated springs and shocks. Each of these Lites is powered by a 339cc fan-cooled 2-cylinder piston-port engine with CD ignition and two 30mm carburetors.

Built on the Polaris Lite chassis, each of these models has an IFS front suspension with 7 inches of travel, and an XTRA-Lite rear suspension with 9.75 inches of travel. Each model has an 8.8-gallon gas tank and a speedometer with tripmeter.

For riders who want additional luxury and convenience, the Indy Lite Deluxe has additional standard features that include: electric start, handwarmers and a thumbwarmer, low-oil warning light, and E-Z Steer ski carbides.


lndy Sport

The 98 lndy Sport has a great new look with its striking Bright Sapphire Metallic paint and dynamic graphics. The performance and ride are also great on this model, which is powered by a 432cc 2-cylinder fan-cooled engine with two 34mm carburetors, and a CD ignition. The lndy Sport has an IFS front suspension with 7.25 inches of travel, and an XTRA-Lite rear suspension providing 9.75 inches of travel.

Handwarmers and a thumbwarmer are standard, as are a speedometer with tripmeter, hydraulic disc brake, 11.8-gallon gas tank, and a front bumper.

Indy Super Sport

Superb fan-cooled performance is combined with an exceptional ride in the lndy Super Sport, which delivers the feel of a high-performance machine in a lightweight, trail-friendly package. The XTRA-10 rear suspension delivers 10.2 inches of travel and has a compression-adjustable Indy Select shock. Riders can adjust by hand the spring pre-load of the IFS front suspension, which provides 9.5 inches of travel and has a torsion bar.

The Super Sport's power comes from its 488cc fan-cooled twin with CD ignition and two 34mm carburetors. There's also a reliable hydraulic disc brake, thumb and handwarmers, a speedometer (with tripmeter) and tachometer, front bumper and 11.8-gallon gas tank.

Indy Trail

The most luxurious and legendary fan-cooled snowmobile on the market is the lndy Trail, and the 1998 model adds to the status of this famous nameplate. Power comes from the Trail's 488cc fan-cooled twin with dual 34mm carburetors and CD ignition. The improved P-85 drive clutch transfers power to the Lightning style track, while the torsion bar and E-Z Steer ski carbides complement the handling. The comfortable ride is provided by front and rear XTRA-10 suspensions, with 9.5 inches of front-end travel and 10.2 inches of travel in the rear. The spring pre-load of the front suspension can be adjusted by hand, and the rear suspension's Indy Select shock is compression-adjustable.

Among the standard features that have attracted a loyal legion of "Trail riders" are: hydraulic disc brake, thumb and handwarmers, speedometer (with tripmeter) and tachometer, halogen headlights, and a 11.8-gallon gas tank. The new front bumper provides greater durability and improved snowmobility.
