The 2002 Polaris TWO-UP TOURING models provide riders with power and a great ride that complement the exceptional comfort and convenience features on each of these sleds. Three models the Indy 600 and 500 Classic Touring and Indy Trail Touring have the Polaris Deluxe Touring Package, which allows the passenger to customize comfort features such as the backrest and handwarmers. The popular Indy Trail Touring returns to the lineup while the Indy Sport Touring and Indy 340 Touring deliver outstanding value and reliable fan-cooled power. The Indy WideTrak LX is a utility sled that is right at home on the trails when it's not on the job.

INDY 600 CLASSIC TOURING
The Indy 600 Classic Touring provides riders with premium performance and premium comfort. It has a performance-quality engine, brake, and suspensions as well as all the conveniences of the Polaris Deluxe Touring Package.

Driver convenience is heightened for 2002 with the introduction of an electronic reverse that is operated by a switch in the left-hand control block. A driver can back the Indy 600 Classic Touring off a trailer or out of a tight parking spot with push-button ease

Another impressive control on this sled is the easy-pull throttle, which controls the impressive liquid-cooled 600 domestic twin with the Variable Exhaust System (VES). This engine has twin Mikuni TM38(mm) flatslide carburetors, digital CD ignition, a Throttle Position Sensor (TPS), and fuel selector switch (with an indicator light in the tachometer). Its new oil pump reduces oil consumption, and it has a thermostat and bypass system, Water Temperature Sensor (WTS) for failsafe running, and quiet exhaust system.

Providing premium braking is the Polaris liquid-cooled high-performance disc brake with high durability brake pads and an integrated parking brake.

The Indy 600 Classic Touring provides outstanding comfort with features such as the plush new two-tone, two-up seat with an oversized rear storage area and a single-lever, infinitely adjustable backrest and infinitely adjustable backrest pad. The backrest also features a high-visibility taillight and the wrap-around taillight further enhances visibility The passenger is treated to adjustable heated passenger handgrips with wind deflectors and extra-wide passenger footrest areas.

Electric start is standard, as are redesigned-for-2002 mirrors, an electric fuel gauge, 5"-diameter speedometer and tachometer with new white faces, an accessory power point, and the high flared windshield.

The fully coupled XTRA-12 rear suspension has a compression-adjustable Indy Select rear track shock. The rear suspension has 12" of travel and the sled has a 133.5" track with .82" lugs, electric start, reverse, plush two-up seat with an oversized rear storage area, single-lever infinitely adjustable backrest with an infinitely adjustable pad, adjustable passenger handgrips, extra wide passenger footrest area, mirrors, and a high flared windshield.

The Indy Trail Touring provides two-up riders with ample power to enjoy the spirit of the sport. Several improvements make the proven 544cc fan-cooled twin an even stronger engine for 2002. It has new carburetor calibration for enhanced throttle response, new pistons for greater durability, new ignition timing for better overall running, and a recalibrated oil pump. This 544cc engine has cylinder reed assist induction, a pair of 34mm Mikuni carburetors, and CD ignition.

The easy-handling XTRA front suspension has Nitrex shocks, a torsion bar, E-Z Steer ski carbides, a 42.5" ski stance, and 9.7" of travel.

The Indy Trail Touring has a 133.5" track with.82" lugs and a fully coupled XTRA10 rear suspension with a Nitrex (nitrogen cell) front track shock and a compression adjustable Indy Select rear track shock. The rear suspension offers 11.5" of travel.

Controls for the hand and thumbwarmers and headlights are conveniently located in the left-hand control block. A driver is kept abreast of operating conditions by the 5"diameter speedometer with a new white face, fuel gauge, and the low oil light.

Touring riders appreciate the 11.8-gallon (U.S.) fuel tank and the reliable Polaris high performance disc brake with an integrated parking brake, composite master cylinder with composite brake lever, and sight gauge.


INDY SPORT TOURING
An improved engine and an impressive list of comfort and convenience features make the Indy Sport Touring the fan-cooled two-up touring sled of choice for 2002.

The Sport Touring has a reliable 550 fan-cooled engine, XTRA front suspension, plush XTRA-10 rear suspension, and standard features such as reverse, adjustable hand and thumbwarmers, a comfortable two-up seat with an adjustable backrest, passenger footrests, rear cargo rack, and a protective high flared windshield. Controls for the hand and thumbwarmers and headlights are conveniently located in the left-hand control block.

The performance and reliability of the proven 544cc fan-cooled twin have been improved for 2002 with new no-offset pistons for greater durability, new carburetor calibration for enhanced throttle response, a recalibrated oil pump, and new ignition timing for better overall running. This 544cc engine has cylinder reed assist induction, a pair of 34mm Mikuni carburetors, and CD ignition. Electric start is available as an accessory (sold separately).

Touring riders appreciate the 11.8-gallon (U.S.) fuel tank and the reliable Polaris high performance disc brake with an integrated parking brake, composite master cylinder with composite brake lever, and sight gauge.

The Indy Sport Touring has a 136" track with 1" lugs and a fully coupled XTRA-10 rear suspension with a Nitrex (nitrogen cell) front track shock and a compression adjustable Indy Select rear track shock. The rear suspension delivers 9.5" of travel, while the XTRA front suspension provides 9.7" of travel. The IFS has Nitrex shocks, E-Z Steer ski carbides, a torsion bar, and a 41" ski stance. The new Solar Red Gen II hood features exciting new graphics for 2002.
Providing smooth handling is the XTRA IFS with Controlled Roll Center (CRC) steering, 42.5" ski stance, exclusive compression-adjustable Indy Select shocks, and 9.6" of travel.

Along with the electronic reverse control, the left-hand control block contains controls for the driver's hand and thumbwarmers and the dual-beam halogen headlights. The Indy 600 Classic Touring has an 11.8-gallon (U.S.) fuel tank to keep long-riding enthusiasts on the trails.


INDY 500 CLASSIC TOURING
Touring riders who like to squeeze some gusto out of their sleds during a day on the trails really enjoy the impressive 500-class power of the Indy 500 Classic Touring. They also appreciate this popular sled's smooth ride and handling and the numerous comfort and convenience features of its Polaris Deluxe Touring Package.

Polaris attends to the needs of the rider and passenger with "standard" features that provide premium comfort, including: a plush new two-tone, two-up seat with an oversized rear storage area and a single-lever, infinitely adjustable backrest and infinitely adjustable backrest pad; adjustable heated passenger handgrips with wind deflectors; and extra-wide passenger footrest area. The high-visibility backrest taillight and wrap-around taillight enhance visibility, and the high flared windshield provides protection for both the driver and passenger.

There's much more, too, such as: electric start, easy-operating push/pull reverse, mirrors that have been redesigned for 2002, adjustable driver hand and thumbwarmers with their controls in the left hand control block, electric fuel gauge, 5"-diameter speedometer with a new white face, an accessory power point, and 11.8-gallon (U.S.) fuel tank.

The XTRA IFS provides responsive handling with its torsion bar, 42.5" ski stance, Indy Select shocks, and 10" of travel. The new saddle-less composite skis have E-Z Steer carbides.

The 133.5"-long track stretches out over bumps and combines with the fully coupled XTRA-12 rear suspension to deliver a comfortable ride. This rear setup has Indy Select front and rear track shocks and 12" of travel.

The reliable power is provided by the legendary liquid-cooled 500 twin that has powered Polaris riders to countless riding memories. The 488cc engine has flatslide TM38(mm) rack-style carburetors that deliver outstanding throttle response and have an easy pull. A driver can rely on consistent braking from the Polaris high performance hydraulic disc brake, which has an integrated parking brake, composite master cylinder and brake lever, and a sight gauge.
The Gen II hood is the new Solar Red and has exciting new graphics.


INDY TRAIL TOURING
For 2002, two-up touring riders can welcome the Indy Trail Touring back to the Polaris snowmobile lineup. This popular model returns better than ever with a full complement of convenience features in the Deluxe Touring Package and an improved 550 fan-cooled engine.

With its numerous standard features, the Indy Trail Touring is designed to create memorable riding experiences for a driver and passenger. This is a great way to experience the fun of two-up tour riding and the smooth ride of a long-track Polaris snowmobile. This is a sled that delivers fun and a great ride experience.

Standard features that add to riders' comfort and pleasure include hand and thumbwarmers, a rear rack and tow hitch, a speedometer with an easy to read 5"-diameter face, comfortable 2-up seat with an adjustable backrest, and a tall windshield.

Providing reliable power for great days on the trails is a fan-cooled, two-cylinder, 339cc engine with CD ignition and a pair of 30mm Mikuni carburetors. Electric start can be added as an accessory item (sold separately), and a reliable mechanical disc brake provides consistently reliable braking power.

The Indy 340 Touring handles responsively with its IFS (Independent Front Suspension) setup that includes Nitrex (nitrogen cell) shocks, 41" ski stance, torsion bar, and 7" of travel. The ride smoothing XTRA-Lite rear suspension has a pair of Nitrex shocks and provides 11" of travel. The Indy 340 Deluxe has a 133.5"-long track with aggressive 1" lugs for outstanding traction.

For 2002, the 340 Touring has great-looking new graphics on its Solar Red hood. A protective front bumper is standard, as are hood screens and a fuel tank with a capacity of 8.8 gallons (U.S.).


INDY WIDETRAK LX
With its aggressive track, extra-large footprint, powerful engine, and ample storage capacity, the Indy WideTrak LX is an ideal utility sled as well as a machine that's capable of solving the most challenging snow conditions.

The Indy WideTrak LX rides on a 20"x156"x1.0" track with large window openings for enhanced cooling and durability. The track wraps around a new coupled slide rail rear suspension with Nitrex (nitrogen cell) shocks and 9.5" of travel. A rear cargo rack and tow hitch are standard, as is a roomy storage compartment under the spacious, padded two-up seat with a backrest.

Whether a rider revs this sled up on the jobsite or the trails, there's ample power from the proven 488cc liquid-cooled twin. This engine has electric start, CD ignition, and a pair of VM34(mm) carburetors that provide impressive throttle response and an easy throttle pull.

The transmission has high and low range plus reverse, and the Independent Front Suspension (IFS) has a 38" ski stance, Nitrex shocks, and 7.25" of travel. The wide (8.5") ski skins provide great flotation and have carbide runners.

A high, flared windshield is standard, as are hand and thumbwarmers, a dependable mechanical brake, speedometer with a 5" face, low-oil light, and 12-gallon (U.S.) fuel tank.
