Teaser - 2005? Kawasaki KX450F 4-Stroke
Kawasaki Unveils (kind of) All-New KX250F 4-Stroke Motocross Model
![]()
We were excited when the CD arrived from Kawasaki. Early information on next years new KX450F was included. Unfortunately, when we took a look at the CD the following text was all there was:"The new machine’s 449 cm3 DOHC 4-valve engine is housed in a semi-double cradle frame with a unique tapered box-section backbone tube. Light and sleek, the KX450F–SR is designed with balanced characteristics that will allow riders to go fast while minimizing fatigue."
Additional information on an attached cover letter reads:
Tetsuya Mizoguchi, who took last year's (all-Japan) 125 Championship on the KX250F, will officially debut the all new bike at round 1 of the All-Japan 250 MX Championship series on April 11, 2004.Oh well, at least we have photos! Kawasaki won't officially claim this as a 2005 model - we say bank on it! Last year the company did the same introduction with the 04 KX250F.
Editors Note: We were wrong! We won't see the KX450F until 2006. The feeling we get is that the bike wasn't far enough along in the development stage to be produced for 2005. This means Stewart will certainly start his 250 class career on a two-stroke.
