Instructions for removing the Revolution quiet insert

Newer Revolution mufflers (like the Hexacone) have a baffle held in with a small tack weld applied to the baffle bolt. To remove the baffle for the first time, simply turn the bolt (loosen) until the small weld breaks off. After this you can simply install or remove the quiet baffle by inserting or removing the bolt. Instructions for removing the riveted in baffle are listed below. MN

To remove the quiet baffle, carefully drill out the Ø 4,8 stainless steel rivet in the discharge pipe. (end/tip of the muffler as pictured) We wrap the pipe completely before drilling.

Use a 7-9mm drill to remove the rivet head. This drill size prevents the M6 internal thread from being damaged. Make sure you start with a smaller drill size than the internal threads under the rivet. Carefully take out the rest of the drilled rivet with another rivet (or a punch).

The muffler insert can then be removed with the aid of pliers. You might want to place a lightweight rag between the pliers and the baffle. Some baffles will be positioned more firmly than others.

If you choose to put the insert back in, simply use the enclosed M6x8mm screw with lock washer. We suggest always using a mild thread lock on the screw.

For permanent use (you no longer will be removing the quiet insert),  the pipe insert can again be fastened with the enclosed  Ø 4,8x10mm rivet.
