Arctic Cat Inc., manufacturer of world-class snowmobiles, all terrain vehicles and personal watercraft, is entering its second year of ATV production.
The Arctic Cat Bearcat 454 4x4 was introduced late in 1995 and has been treading through the ATV market ever since. And the 1997 Bearcat's are in production and coming out early. The Bearcat 4x4 has one of the highest ground clearances in the industry. The Bearcat's suspension features superior 7.2 inches of travel length, and its engine displacement is among the biggest of any ATV.
Ground clearance was one of the most important features considered when designing the Bearcat. With its 9.2 inches of ground clearance, a 50-inch wheelbase and low center of gravity, the Bearcat leads the way in getting over rocks, stumps or trenches.
The 4x4 has a fully independent, double A-arm front suspension system and a semi-independent rear axle, delivering easy control and handling and unparalleled maneuverability.
The Bearcat 4x4 is all muscle and it's liquid-cooled, four-stroke 454cc engine offers reliability and durability in all temperature conditions. The machine's innovative front differential keeps both front wheels turning over rough terrain for true four-wheel drive. And the Bearcat has highlow range for superior trail performance and an exceptional towing capacity. And shifting is easy, with the Bearcat's auto clutch, 5-speed transmission and exclusive rocker shifter.
Other Arctic Cat Bearcat 4x4 features include hydraulic disc brakes front and rear, with single-lever control; instrumentation and gear position indicators; easy-shift reverse; large rack and payload capacity; high-amp alternator; and full floor boards with serrated footpegs.
The 4x4 has a dry weight of 635 pounds and a fuel capacity of
4.25 gallons.

The Arctic Cat Bearcat 454 2x4 will be available this fall and it carries many of the same components that debuted on the Bearcat 4x4, which is bound to make it one of the most powerful and impressive two-wheel drives on the market.
The Bearcat 2x4 features a Suzuki 454cc four-stroke, liquid-cooled, engine to give you plenty of power while jetting through the brush or hauling your work. It has the same long-travel, double A-arm independent front suspension and semi-independent rear suspension as the 4x4, but with revised shock and spring calibration. So the 2x4 offers superior handling and control and helps smooth out rough terrain.
The 2x4 model has the same 5-speed transmission with auto-clutch, rocker shifter and durable shaft drive as the 4x4, but without the high-low range. They also share a 4.25 gallon fuel tank, single-lever hydraulic disc brakes and standard brake lights.
If you have a lot to go through before you reach your destination, the Bearcat 2x4 can handle it. The Bearcats have a long 50" wheelbase, class-leading 9.2" ground clearance, and exclusive full floor boards with integrated foot-pegs -- no obstacle is too big. And the rider's center of gravity stays low enough to perform all the tight turns; the 2x4 has a turning radius of 8.9'.
Arctic Cat went for a whole new look with the Bearcat 2x4. It has a new front fascia, new dual headlight placements and new fenders. The 2x4 is more than 50 pounds lighter than the Bearcat 4x4 with a dry weight of 583 pounds. It has new partial racks with capacities of 60 lbs. in the front and 160 lbs. in the rear. And who could forget the 2x4's bright new orange color.
With all these features the new Bearcat 454 2x4 ATV from
Arctic Cat is bound to make work more like play.
