Suzuki Unveils Y2K ATV
Line
Suzuki QuadRunner ATVs are well known for their quality and durability. Ever
since Suzuki invented four-wheel ATVs they've continually introduced features that make them
tougher, more reliable and harder-working. For 2000, Suzuki will offer seven different ATV
models: The all new QuadMaster LT-A500F, the fulltime 4WD LT-F500F, the versatile King
Quad and rugged QuadRunner F250F, the 2WD QuadRunner F250, the lightweight QuadRunner Fl
60, and the nimble QuadSport 80.
All new for the Y2K model year is the Suzuki QuadMaster LT-A500F. Based on the successful LT-F500F, the QuadMaster has the added convenience of a fully automatic transmission and the choice of 2WD or 4WD operation.
The frame is made of large diameter, thin-walled tubing similar to the LT-F500F, and is
supported by an independent double A-arm front suspension and 4-link rear suspension with
a preload adjustable shock absorber at each wheel. The QuadMaster shares the same up
graded shock absorbers used this year on the LT-F500F featuring improved damping characteristics and a longer stroke that provides an additional 20mm of wheel travel, plus
extended rear suspension arms that add 30mm to the wheelbase for a smoother ride. Also
shared between models are upgraded 25 inch Dunlop tires mounted on cast aluminum wheels.
Hydraulic front disc brakes and a sealed drum rear brake are standard equipment.
Taller handlebars and an additional 30mm of seat padding result in a spacious and comfortable
riding position. Full-size steel floorboards provide the rider additional protection
from mud and water, plus integrated footpegs help keep the rider's feet from sliding. If
the situation calls for electrical accessories the QuadMaster can handle them with dual 12V DC accessory outlets and a 325 watt charging system. Adding to the machine's
versatility are twin head lights and taillights, large racks and storage compartment,
speedometer and fuel gauge, and a high towing / carrying capacity.
